A Wedding Gift

I saw this on Pinterest

and it got me to thinking.

I have quite a few various vessels filled to the brim with lovingly discarded wine corks. 

I have a friend getting married who I know likes wine and entertaining.

I have a glue gun and I know how to use it.

So with a few supplies I set to making this

I purchased a letter "D" (for the couples last name) from Joann's Etc. 

I decided not to paint the letter before applying the corks. I might paint it next time.

I hot glued the corks standing up to the letter. 

I began with the top left edge and worked my way around. 

I overlapped the edges both outside and inside.

 Had to use a little force with a few of the last ones, but in the end it all worked out. 

The gift has been delivered. 

I hope they enjoy both the gift and their deep love for each other for many many years to come!
